Michail Lalov "Pieta"

The painting interprets in a very personal and original way the traditional iconographic Christian plot. A slender, nude female figure with her back turned to the viewer forms the central motif of the composition. A body of a man, painted partially and fragmentarily complements the central motif creating a monolithic and compact group. The general compositional solution allows the viewer to further develop in his imagination those meaningful features that the author has originally put on the canvas. The richness of possible perceptions significantly increases the associative potential of the image.
