Michail Lalov: "The sentence of Paris I"

The painting interprets in an original and peculiar way the widespread plot derived from the ancient Greek mythology. The figures of the three goddesses are placed in the foreground in different spatial positions, creating and emphasizing the peculiar rhythm of the composition. Paris peeks out from behind but remains largely hidden for viewer. The conditionally treated shapes of the bodies, the increased color sonority of the natural environment they are located in create the feeling of idyllic, fairy and nostalgic atmosphere in a seemingly lost to us world, infinitely distant in the past.
