Vasil Stoev: ''By the river''
Autor: Vasil Stoev
Size: 100x130 cm
Technique: Oil on canvas
Style: abstraction, neo-primitive
A composition of three figures conditionally drawn and with grotesque features. They are located in the forefront where a conditional background marks spatial plans. The slightest hint of narration is eliminated. The figures are isolated, absorbed in themselves and seem to reside in some strange numbness, without contact with each other and with the viewer. As in most of his paintings, here too, the artist seeks the main pictorial influence through expression of combinations between irregular shapes and geometrically derived large monochromatic planes.
