Nikolai Yanakiev: "Light"

Although the style of the painting is emphatically abstract the conditional division of various colorful areas - the upper in one-color orange and relatively flat and the lower having a rather complex mosaic structure, directs the viewer's perception to associations related to the presence of two spatial zones. They come down to the background and the foreground. The artist tries to convey to the viewer his feeling of light and cheerful mood, which cannot be described in words or in any specific plot interpretation. That is why purely plastic elements come into play - lines, spots, shapes and silhouettes and most of all - color.
