Nikolai Yanakiev: ''Composition I''

In this painting composed around a middlemost motif reminiscent of a mummer's mask or a kind of a totem the artist adheres to his favorite style. The central part is constructed more expressively, with relatively more sonorous chromatic accents of white, yellow, red and green, while the conditional background, streaked with horizontal stripes with torn, improvised painted shapes and outlines, serves mainly to better highlight the central part.
