Valentin Savchev: "Youth"

In this work, the author demonstrates a different approach compared to the usual, formed from openings spatial constructions, characteristic of a significant part of his sculptural work. He turns to the traditional concept of sculpture where the body is relatively detached from the ambient space. A figure of a woman is treated in a generalized and idealized way. Like a number of ancient female torsos the arms are missing and the head is treated generally and conditionally. The main goal of the sculptor is to create a symbolic image in which individual features are minimized. Such an approach provides a symbolic and allegorical reading of the image.
