Boyko Mitkov ''Reflection I''

In this work, the artist combines the correct shape of the square as an architectural construction, resembling a relief painting with a plastically shaped frame, with a similarly inscribed square of metal. Its surface preserves traces of the primary but fine and delicate processing of matter turned into expressive plastic form. This form seems to be revealed to the viewer as a fragment of an unknown trace, evidence of a kind of archeology of memory. The plain geometric construction of the overall composition contrasts with the irregularities of the metal, creating an aesthetic and artistic effect.
